Hooping Dana Point Lobster Opener
Looking to find someone to meet up with to go hooping with. I need to meet some more fishing buddys, tired of going alone all the time haha Also i have a few questions about where you can actually drop your nets. I have read that you can't drop nets inside the harbor or on the jettys/breaks walls of the harbor is this true? If so where do you actually hoop at? Also everything I have read says use oily fish as bait has anyone tried adding canned anchovies to the macs they use as bait since there plenty oily and fishy smelling? |

Good luck. That place (along with MDR) are absolute ZOOs on opening night. Lot of guys in boats who 'think' they know what they're doing but watching for kayakers is the last thing on their minds.
Make sure you've got plenty of lighting and don't assume those boats see you. Personally, I'd wait a couple of nights.
