Its a solid carbon Fladen Maxximus rod with fuji concept braid eyes (I don't like the eyes - they have a habit of cracking).

Nice video. Looks like you've handled those guys before. I wouldn't be letting one on my lap with the size of that mouth.

that is a great video, and yes it does look like you have done that before, IMO, I don't think my huevos are large enough to bring it on board.... great job bravo...

I would be lying if I said I wasn't nervous ! But it was my first shark in the kayak, and I had waited a long time to catch that fish. So I was determined to get it on board and get some video/pictures.

It did take a rather large chunk out of my rod handle (battle scars !) and a small chunk out of my dry suit 0- but the crown jewels are safe !

I probably would release alongside the yak next time - but I have to say, that it was a blast !
