hey BL,
I got a penn 506 (narrow super jigmaster, 5:1. don't make them anymore, but they are very nice reels) and penn power stick (7', 15-40lb, nothing fancy but a decent glass stick) that I haven't used in like years. they're both in good shape. reel is filled with 25# I think, maybe 30#. killed many an albacore on them many years ago so I know they work. weird you know, you have gear that works great, but you buy all kinds of new crap because, well, you do. and that old gear that works great just sits because, well, who knows. and it's sad. ain't a thing wrong with them but I'm too stupid to know it or use them, had to go out and get all that shiny blingy crap. don't matter what I got 'cause I can't fish worth a damn anyways. now, if I offered it for free, that'd insult you or at least be sort of condescending making me look like I was doing some kind of mother theresa shit, and I don't do that. and you wouldn't want that. besides peoples around here might get the wrong impression about me, 'cause I got this "he's an asshole" reputation to uphold so, let's just say you buy me a FH ticket and we call it even. we can meet down there or something like that. I get to take my boys to FH and you get to kill some fish. I can post pics or something if you'd like. |

That 506 is a rad reel, very cool of you Rob.
Now days with all the fancy Shimano and Daiwa and Avets out there Penn and Newells dont get very much attention. Still some of the best gear out there and maintaining/ repairing these is cheap and easy. |

I can hook you up on some used gear for a good price. I buy used rods, reels, and tackle @ yard sales and swap meets. So if your not to picky and want something that will work, i can sell you some set ups for what i paid. I have more than I need, so let me know.
