That is Rockcod Regs (certain times of their season). You can fish everything else in whatever depth you want.

I can almost guarantee you that he was fishing just north up out of the canyon on the deep flat on the north side. If you paddle straight out you will hit a drop that then flattens out and that is the area where you can usually get dabs. The canyon itself is more to the left as you come out of the harbor and much much deeper.

You can fish deeper then 360 but you can not have any rockfish onboard.

Right now Rockfish are closed so no matter where you fish you can not have any rockfish, lings or even leopard sharks in possesion.

It's not very interesting but...

In 2004 I was testing a FF that I just installed on a friends kayak. I brought along a couple rods to test some new rod holders as well. It was not an intention of mine to fish as I was only out there between 3 and 4 PM, but at some point my paddle must have knocked one of the reels into freespool and a carolina 1 oz. rig with a red hook went down and down and down. I did not realize this until the reel was completely spooled. This was just outside the first marker and I figure around 200 ft? Anyway, I was almost back into KH when I realized what happened and began to wind it all back in. The load was even more than I expected for 700 ft. of line and by the time I got it all back I had caught a small 1lb. rockfish.
