It's not very interesting but...
In 2004 I was testing a FF that I just installed on a friends kayak. I brought along a couple rods to test some new rod holders as well. It was not an intention of mine to fish as I was only out there between 3 and 4 PM, but at some point my paddle must have knocked one of the reels into freespool and a carolina 1 oz. rig with a red hook went down and down and down. I did not realize this until the reel was completely spooled. This was just outside the first marker and I figure around 200 ft? Anyway, I was almost back into KH when I realized what happened and began to wind it all back in. The load was even more than I expected for 700 ft. of line and by the time I got it all back I had caught a small 1lb. rockfish. ![]() |
