8-13 Avoiding the crowds

I decided to avoid the LJ crowds today and went to SD Bay looking for flatties, skipped out on paddling to the bait barge, and chose to work the plastics and Gulp! instead. Ended up paying off for me. I Caught 3 shorts (17"-21") and this one.

Went 27" and 6 lb 12 oz, not a huge butt, but it will work for dinner

Nice!! Congrats, nice flatty! I almost wish I went with you to the bay today, looking for some Hali pts... Dive was good, underwater for over an hour, our spot (Oceanside Harbor-Eastside lagoon ) looks good, can't wait for the opener...

Trev, Awesome! You got to teach me how to fish the flatties there sometime.

Chris, Guess I should get certified. Been a long time since I had a nice lobster alfredo.

You can be certified by opening day.... after diving for bugs, hooping for them will just be a novelty. 8)

Click link to check out the dive video, w/sound!

Unfortunately, to host this video on a free site, it is degrated from the orinal file... still looks ok.
