Lake Murray

Rogersmith inspried me to dust off the 2# rod and put the yak into some freshwater. Murray with a fresh 2k# stocking of trout was an easy call. The water was coffee stained so throwing the iron turned out to be a wasted effort. I switched over to my time tested rainbow glitter powerbait (I am not too proud) and was rewarded with a limit plus two decent cats probably stirring from the heavy rains (lake level is incredibly high). I thought I had hooked a mega trout before the first cat surfaced and was guided into the net.

The arm I fished was mine pretty much the entire trip. The day was beautiful, the osprey were active and the wind was nowhere to be found. Murray's a current option.

Nice stringer. I too at times will do the old powerbait trick. You are there to FISH after all.

I didnt know you could use a sit on top on lake murray. I always wanted to fish there as I live in San Carlos, but never got around to it, and never have been a fresh water guy.

If there is anyone on the board that fishes there alot on a yak I would love to join you and learn.
