Hey PAL and other organizers...

Just a suggestion, last couple of meetings I went to the lobby area during check in was total chaos. It was easy to find where to get card for speaking time, but it's REALLY HARD TO FIND PAUL, JOE and the others to whom the time was to be ceded and the other kaykers.
When we did the matching black shirts thing, at least it was easy to find the like minded folks.

My suggestion is to create some sort of recognizable uniform, shirt, hat big sign or something so the people who don't recognize faces from this board or from on the water at a distance know who to sit with, talk to, and cede time to.

Now that I can be there to at least increase our numbers I have to agree with willy, I would like to fill out the card to speak and then cede time to those who know the right words to get the best bang for the time. Knowing who where and how to do this would help make it a bit easier and smoother.

just a suggestion may be we can all wear a tourny t-shirt if you have one old or new it will be easy to fine like minded folks and does not cost anything if you have it alot of folks went to the steve moyer tourny and looks like its the same people going to the meeting. just my .02 $

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Yes, I agree these meetings are often mass confusion. I'll get with our friends at the Waterman's Alliance to see what we can do to smooth things out.

from my understanding Waterman will be giving out tee's but i still plan on wearing my tourny tee to be easy to spot

The Waterman's Alliance will be on hand to give out t-shirt to all conservation-fisherman attendees and with pizza/drinks for everyone.

Great idea...at one of the meetings, we chose black only to be accused of threatening tactics.

Won't be hard to miss the fishermen and women, pretty sure the other side will be handing out t-shirts...usually in blue, look for the phrase claiming how MLPA's work, even though they've not been set in place...

Just an update.

Thanks all for the inputs. We all read them and discuss them and try to find solutions all the time from your feedback so it's mucho appreciated.

The Watermen's Alliance will have a table, and that's where you can find me (joe--zenspearo). Everyone will have name tags but the key organizers for ceding time and speaker coordination will be easy to recognize, due to what they will wear (trust me on this point--we took your feedback that it was hard to find the key people at past meetings).

Funny story: At one of our meetings last year, some guy came up and asked for six speaker cards to have more time to speak. Tried to sound convincing too. I didn't buy it and somebody eventually "outed" that person as some nut case from the close-it-all side.

This is an open forum and we can't openly discuss in advance speaking points, what we wear (because you bet some joker is going to wear the same and try to collect speaker cards from some first-timer fisherman attendee), etc.. But on the day at the venue, the information will be clearly posted, speaking points will be printed, copied, and made available, and the organizers will be distinctive in what they wear so if you have time card to give, need speaking point, or need time, you can easily find someone who can help.
