I dont mind those Mustad cheapos soemtimes, they only seem to work for me when i bait the hooks with shrimp or dip in the Urchin goop.

I like these size 14 ones made by Hyubusa. they look like small krill and pink colored. Seems to work well for me.

i use a 12-27lb bass type rod. works fine. I used to use the sabiki rod, and i liked it alot, but i missed soem soft biters smelts and such due to the stiffness of the rod.
