Ulua - How the Hawaiians do it.

If you ever wondered how to raise a 100 lb. Ulua up a 50 ft cliff face watch this vid till the end.

This one was pretty cool too. Some big fish over there at the islands!

50 ft from the shoreline its 600 ft deep.

Mauna Kea Hawaii rises 33,474 feet from its base on the ocean floor, only 13,680 feet are above sea level.

Cracks me up.....they leash their rods and reels (at least I think that's what the rope was for?) But where the hell is their harness?

Those dudes are nuts! That is one long ass fall and they were definitely right up to the edge.

Cool video

I lived on Oahu for 8 years and we did some fishing for Ulua on the west side of the island and even tried it off the south side of the island at some deeper spots on the west side of Diamond Point.

Fishing for them you never knew what would bite the line; big snapper, even amberjack. Night time was the best time to get the big ones or early in the morning.

Sometime in my life I plan to live on Maui. I have been there visiting a friend who is a lifelong resident.

We rode our motorcycles all over the island (On the road to Hana, and up and down crater road countless times)

We toured their cattle ranch- Haleakala.

The back side of Haleakala has some good Ulua fishing, but as you said You never know what sea creature will take that hook.

This is a good magazine on fishing in Hawaii when I lived there back in the 80's, so I do not know if it still is good, but interesting to read.

Yeah - I don't think I'd be able to do that without offsetting another stick - it made me cringe to see him handle it that way.
