Paddle out at 5 30 wind was super calm, launch was perfect it was like launching into the bay there was pretty much no surf at all! started the journey out, get pasted the bouy and make some nice bait and on to soaking the mack we go, I feel the bait start to get a little nervous so I slow down to at the time I start getting the jig stick ready and after 3 casts i had landed 2 barrys, so I figuared it was time to move on off in the distance I see tons of bait hitting the surface so me and the other few kayaks out rush over there to start throwing the iron at the boils but not luck so I continued my search on for the LJ magic as I searching I run in to the dude whole I thought got super kelped so I paddled over to see if i could lend and helping hand and he said he might think its a sea bass that got caught and was dead or a big yellow so I decieded to hang out with him and keep him company and before long he get the fish free and now its a fight! but this bastard sea dog starts to show so I grab my gaff and run over the to try to fend him off and we thought we had got rid of him but then just and hes pulling the fish to the boat the seal comes up out of no where and grabs the fish and snaps the line!!! f@%K!!! so then we introduce each other to our selves his name his Matt Fallon you BWE guys might know him hahah, so I asked matt if I could barrow a Greeny since all I had left in the tank was spanish, and no more than 30 seconds later I bent! fishing what felt like a freight train running away!! but with some incouraging words and help from matt I was able to get a handle on him but then Mr. Sea dog shows up and matt starts chancing him smacking his gaff on the water and i start realing up for my life and my yellow gets closed to the boat and matt grabs him and pulls him on deck HELL YAY!!! im so stoked!!!! My Personal Best Yellow 23.7 Pounds 43.6 inches long thanks so much for the help Matt Your the best!!!

The question is.. did you hook the fish or did the fish hook you? This is a very addictive sport. Yes, I did say sport! Pound fer pound, these are the meanest hardest fighting fish to visit La Jolla. They don't tap out very easly.

Congrats!
