drifting....
Yeah, I agree that the hobie has some definate advantages for fishing...I noticed my friend peddles slightly into the drift, while I fly over baitballs, and sometimes miss the smaller ones...
I purchased a paddle kayak (tarpon 16), and was convinced that the simplicity, and purist aspects would reign supreme...I was wrong! In smooth water, I can sprint faster, and I do have simplicity on my side, but if we are travelling any distance, or conditions get less than perfect, I can hardly keep my buddy in sight!! I sneeze, I loose 5 yards. I need to adjust something on my fish finder, I loose 15 yards.....I try and make a cell call, my buddy is 200 yards closer the the freakin fish!! I will say that paddling has been great for my back workout! Cowboybill |
