Great job Ryan, glad you got a nice one. They sure like to play with baits.
I fished from 6 - 7:45pm tonight for one bite which I missed. |

Nice one Mcfly.
I had a whole lot of nothing touch my bait all the way in to Heartbreak Hotel as Trout called La Valencia. I had made a bunch of 7-8 inch macs and then later one big fat one over 12 inches. I kept the big one long and changed out the smaller ones every once in a while. Paddling in around 7:30ish, I wanted to try a setting on the camera, so I snapped a pic of Dennis as he paddled in front of La Velencia with the lights all on, turned out like crap. Before I started up again the big bait starts going off, let it run quite awhile and fish on! Made a nice run and plowed into the kelp. Popped it out and it kept circling trying to get back down, was making some headway and pop. Reeled in about 10 feet of line and my hook, if it was lighter out I am sure I would have seen color. As I was putting the rod away I noticed that I did not pull the hook, the hook had broke :x Fish felt real heavy, I am gonna guess 56 pounds or more

I was paddling near Ryan and I notice his rod tip doing the nervous bait/pre-hit dance. So I tell him "Dude I think your getting bit" and he replies "Naw, I just gotta a big bait" and gives me that I know what I'm doing look. Then the clicker goes off and he swings harder then Bobby Bonds on steroids. Then he lets off a tirade "@%$#@%&**^%$#" of damnation. ops: ops: ops: Ryan good to see you find redemption! Iceman, go OWNER or go home. I know there are big fish and killer fisherman out there! No complacency here, see the PM crew this afternoon. I'm actually praying for Holy Mackerel to get one, he has a bad case of WSB blue balls. He's like 300 hours in with nada......go Chris! Ken |

NICE RYAN! I'm still trying to shake off that jinx you put on my kayak with that DAMN BANANA. .
I got picked up in front of the Hotel @ about 7 pm. Short bite, with a crushed head and teeth marks. She didn't want to come back for more, I guess. Chris, better get laid tonight. 11th consecutive outing? That's okay. I'm still looking for my fish this year.... I guess I should have followed you in, Andy -Dennis |
