Transducer ???? for Hobie owner - Kayak Fishing Adventures on Big Water’s Edge

Why put it directly under the center hatch? Seems like it would get in the way when stowing stuff. A transducer isn't something you mess with once it is properly installed. Since there is so little accessible space inside of the kayak, I would think out of the way is better (e.g., by the mast pole).
