Malibu wet mount transducer?

I've been very impressed with several posters recent contributions of wet mount transducer installations. I have a old Malibu Extream that I would like to rig this way. These Malibus have a second layer of material inside thier hulls that other kayaks do not have. I have heard that this material needs to be removed for a glued in installation. Does any one know if the wet mount will shoot through the inside layer on these kayaks? The material appears to be almost like a foam and I'm concerned that any air in the foam would block the beam. Thanks, Mike

It won't work well shooting through the foam, you will definitely need to scrape that area clean.
