GENERAL SUGGESTIONS FOR PUBLIC SPEAKING AT OCT. 21, 2009 BRTF MEETING

Hilton Long Beach &Public Executive Meeting Center
701 West Ocean Blvd.
Long Beach, CA 90831
Public Speaking Times: 1:30PM-5PM and 7PM-10PM.
Wednesday, October 21, 2009

Acknowledgement: This document is the work of many from different fishing communities and websites. It’s done in spare time by multiple volunteers, who all love diving and fishing and the ocean. It’s not supported or paid for by the mega-enviro foundations who paid for the MLPA implementation. So it ain’t spit-and-polish. We all have real jobs. We don’t get paid by grants from some animal rights mega-group or some other corporate/enviro entities. But like all underdog fishermen volunteer effort in this process, it comes from the right place.

Please help by being there on October 21st, 2009 in Long Beach.

PLEASE SEE ATTACHED PDF

All: Please help cross-post in the various kayakfishing websites.

Thumbs up

Thanks Joe, and all the others, this will be good to print up and bring to the Public Comment!

But first, please read the ENTIRE document. There are many Do's and Dont's.

Basically, Support WG2. But there are things we as a group did in the past that will NOT be effective this last meeting. It had its place in prior meetings, but not this one.

SO PLEASE READ EVERY WORD OF THIS DOCUMENT!

Very well written, major BUMP....

Again, it is crucial we have numbers...presence people, and fresh faces to speak.

And bring your dip nets....

Lets make it Happen.

Gather up your friends, and family members and bring them along.
Our grass roots efforts can secure the future of our respective sports for generations to come.

We must accept nothing less than Victory.

i find it amazing that the enviros are allowed to go over their alloted time repeatedly and the fisherman are cut off on the dot.....what amazed me more is that you are telling us to just accept this.

I was reviewing past public coment videos in the archive last night. Some people on both sides went on longer, and got a pass if they were specific and on topic. Some got cut off when they started speaking about things that don't matter at this point. It is the way it is. Arguing is not going to make it any better at this point.

If you stay very specifically on topic you are much less likely to get cut off. STaying within the alloted time is still better. As Kurt says, once the timer goes off, people are just waiting for you to finish up so we can hear the next speaker.
