Hitting the loacl water

hay guys I have been fishing in newport Because the drive to LJ is a little much for me being that I live in Riverside.
So enjoy the local report.
launched in Newport about 830am and paddled over to the bait barge to get bait. after loading up on sardines I paddled to my spot and set up my first drift. after about the 3rd drift I found what I was looking for.
a nice 26.5 inch Hali.

on the water shot after the paddle back in the harbor
After securing the fish on the game clip I decided to test my luck and see if I could pull off 1 more. and about 15 min later im hooked up again. I pulled in another nice halibut and after securing it on the clip I decided to not try to push my luck to much and called it a day.
the second fish went 24.5 inches. they are moving in tight to the beach guys. get them.
found the fish in 10ft of water or less. good luck and tight lines

both fish in a shore pic.
P.S.
I lost my gaff somewhere in around the mouth of the harbor while i was taking the pics. so if you find it please PM me. thanks

Nice!! I'm sure I'll see you out there, it's definitely been picking up lately.

(Where's the flattie icon? We got a , but no flattie?)

You might want to hit up the Baytubers halibut only tourney on Sunday in New Port, looks like you could be a contender. Nice fish!

Take it easy!
