I have heard some reports of Yellowtail around Anacapa. Not a huge volume of fish but a chance at exotics, none the less. Would be a good idea to put the yaks in here for one of the sessions for a look see. Live squid on the dropper loop has been best, iron might work but will get some nice Bonita as a bycatch. Fish are deep, 120'-150'. Good luck, hope weather cooperates. TL Rhino

Black Pearl 2 Day

Merry Christmas To All, Andy, Will the BP have live fin bait or live squid? On my last trip on the BP we made some Macs near the oil platform just outside the harbor. If anyone needs last minute lobster bait, the West Marine (about a mile from the landing) has large frozen macs for 2 bucks a pop. I think they close at 6:00 PM. Let's Go Getem, bosco

I am so looking forward to this trip and all the possible varieties of fish and hooping. The weather report is very favorable and it looks like we may have live squid for bait...............................

I am bringing about 10# of mackerel to share. Live squid is supposed to be the bait. hand held VHF(Steve is bringing 2), light, pfd and signal device(whistle, air horn) are required equipt. Bow line would be a good idea.
