Last time I was fishing at La Jolla I couldn't keep a bait in the water without a sea lion grabbing it. I also lost a couple of Bonita, frustrating.

I'm usually out at Dana Point, not too many out there and they don't really follow you around.

From my perspective, if folks are arguing that the area is returning to it's natural state are correct, then an increase in sharks is to be expected.
