Acid Wrapped rods are simply to reduce the amount of torque put on you. They eliminate the rods constant attempt to twist.

They work well on a kayak just like they do any other time.

ive wrapped 1 like this and use it. It is nice I like it. I have also used them when I worked on the boats (customers rods) and enjoyed fishing with them as well.

The only problem with these rods is that they are going to tend to be more expensive which turns many people off. The crappy thing is that these actually cost LESS to wrap because of the smaller guides used (and usually less guides as well).
