It's been a while.

Back in the day, I ordered a 2013 Malibu X Factor from OEX and had them install a livewell. I got all excited and had it out a few times, then dad responsibilities kicked in with coaching football, baseball, getting one of my sons to finish his Eagle rank, etc. I also wasn't kind to my body either.

I recently had gastric bypass surgery at 55 and I am waiting a couple more months to be able to lose enough weight to kayak safely. I need to be able to get myself in the kayak if I fall out, Haha!

I only have about two and a half years left for ocean fishing as I will be retiring to the Boise area. I figure it is time to dust off the yak, and to get ready for some ocean fishing before I leave. I am a San Diego native, so it is going to be a rough transition to Boise.

Just wanted to reintroduce myself and catch up. I was shocked to see Malibu Kayaks, close up. I have an X Factor and a 14 foot Stealth. Anything else that I missed?

I can sympathize with family life pushing fishing to the sidelines. My son also became an Eagle Scout and I did not buy my first kayak until after the kids were in Highschool.

Other forms of social media have taken their toll on forums, and it is good to see anglers back here, Best wishes for a speedy recovery and welcome back Dano.
