Launched around 615. No surf and a light breeze, kinda choppy on the surface. Headed out to the kelp and made 2 spaniards, but bait seemed scarce. Went out to deeper water and sent 'em down. Saw some big boils and bait flying and set course to intercept but nothing came of it. I heard two guys slow trolling in a skiff say they bagged a yellow and they talked to a kayaker that had one. Later they were hootin and hollerin like they got another. The point of the hearsay is that I knew I was in the right area and there were yellows to be had. I stuck it out until noon when the wind kicked up and helped me in. In retrospect I should have been fishing the surface but I always have a good time when I feel like I have a shot. That's all I've got.
