Anyone use a Humminbird fish finder then?
The new ones are getting really good reviews but I would like someones first hand impression before laying down the cash. If you have another side scan FF then please recommend and tell me why you like it. Thanks in advance for sharing your wisdom. |

Really depends on where you're fishing if any of those features are useful to you. Check out the kayak sonar discussion thread in here and maybe scoop up some useful tips

Depends on where your fishing. Many sidescan units are good for picking up structure, but weak for fish. For offshore I have yet to find much use for it. Inshore anglers in Florida have had success with sidescan for finding Tarpon, schools of drum and bait. I would like to see comments on 3d scan technology...I just sprung for a Raymarine element, have yet to test it out, it has a large transducer that really needs a Hobie guardian transducer shield.
