Solana Beach - kelp

Has anyone been out of Fletcher Cove, Del Mar River mouth or the Solana Beach area lately and can give me some intel on the kelp situation? I'm going to be in the area this weekend and just wondering if the kelp forests are there right now or not? Appreciate it

I was there last weekend, and there is very little kelp. If you surf fish there are lots of sand crabs around.
