Thanksgiving Weekend Skunk (Video!)

Sorry for the late report, but after the 3-day skunk and my computer getting hacked, I was not in a big hurry to even view the video. Fished La Jolla on both Friday and Sunday, with Santa Monica Bay on Saturday. Had some very good Pacific Macks for each of the 3 days, but was struggling with the mount of my new transducer. Not to mention, still setting up my new FF and exploring the features. On the surface, being where I was, it seemed to be a very slow weekend. On the other end of my downrigger it was a different story. Hope you enjoy this, and it is not destroyed by YouTube (it is all in order of occurrence).

Awesome footage as usual. That school of yellows was so exciting I’m now sweating.

Wow. I know the feeling on those days that the fish finder screen and the visual tell you there is bait fish or some large fish school under neath, but nothing is taking your live bait. Without video footage, you have no idea how much worse it is that there are Yellows in numbers just barely looking at your presentation. Great video, it just shows some days no matter what you do, it's a skunk. Thanks for sharing Greg.

Nice to see what the bait looks like in action. Seems to me your bait is always struggling and swimming on its side. Perhaps a different hook method would render a more natural presentation?

Fish are not looking for a natural presentation, but more of a distressed look. Now lethargic is not what they are looking for, but a symptom of not having the drive to constantly raise and lower my setup with fresh baits.

Got the HDS7 Live. My HDS7 gen2 was on the fritz, and WM did not have any of the models (including the Carbon) since. I had to wait for them to get released. This is my first adventure into downscan, sidescan and chirp.

No, no live images. Did not know I had the big school of YT on video until a couple of days later.

I am sure I have somewhere. Unless you are basically done actually catching fish, it is not worth the effort.
