Dana Point
Launched at sunrise to calm conditions. Water was super green and didn't see much bait. Little to no kelp on the surface. Headed north and fished a weedless 3/4 oz. brown and gold underspin between the big Rock and the red buoy around the lobster pots for 6 short calicos and couple macs. Saw 2 guys in hobies a little ways past the red bouy later in the am. Not sure how they were doing. The drift was good although the fishing was pretty slow. Good to get out there on a quiet day. Waved at another guy in a hobie fishing at the end of the jetty on my way in. Does everyone but me have a hobie? Back at the ramp by 11. |

Bummer to hear the water is green- I’m hoping to get out a couple of times the next few days and I’ll report back.
Anyone heard of whether the skipjack are still around and if so what general direction? C |

No Hobie here either. Water was green a few weeks ago too. Only fish I found were in dirty water.
