SD bay 5/20 slow day butt

Headed out the door at 6:15am. Arrived at Kellogg beach launch off rosecrans around 6:35 and launched by 7ish am I’d say. Threw some plastics on the way to the bait barge. Had one bit but couldn’t get it to stick. Get bait for $20 a mix of chovie and dines with a 4:1 ratio of chovies to sardines.
Wind was pushing east and tide was pulling west which had me sitting dead still. Thank god for my hobie as I needed to troll and fish to cover ground and find some halis. Had one Rake around 7:45 and nothing else... tide started turning around and pushing my kayak in along with a gentle breeze which made for ideal drift. 9am still just that one rake, 9:30 a small bite looked like bass, 9:45 a solid bite on bottomi let her eat it and minutes later I have legal hali. 10am and I’m on with another. And then one other bite after that. It was a really slow day besides my two fish. Loaded up and gone by 11.

THat's good stuff right there. That foil pack looks lust like the one that made my wife fall in love with me. She brought a piece of Salmon to a BBQ, where were all eating Steak. NO one knew how to cook it, including me. So I put together a pack like yours. OMG, one of the best pieces of fish I have ever had. Congrats on your slow day!

Just to be clear 2 halibut is a great day for me and my personal best for halibut in one day. It was definitely a quality over quantity type of day. The action was slow but the day was great nonetheless.
