Anglers voices heard somewhat
"On April 24th, Assembly Bill 2787, authored by Assemblyman Bill Quirk, passed out (6-1) of the Assembly Committee on Environmental Safety and Toxic Materials, but not before being amended from an outright ban of fishing weights/sinkers 50 grams or less, to a bill that will “study” the potential impacts of lead on California wildlife."
https://www.fishrapnews.com/features...ng-weight-ban/ "AB 2787, as amended, would direct a non-government agency to study the effects of lead on California wildlife. A statement issued by CSL shortly after the Assembly committee vote stated it hoped the study would be conducted by an objective government agency." Marko Mlikotin, Executive Director of the California Sportfishing League So the bill was approved, but amended to remove the ban, while granting funds for the research of lead on the fisheries.. Small step forward, follow CA Sportfishing League for updates.. http://www.savefishing.com ![]()
