Check the weather, make sure you know the forecast. Be aware of currents and winds. That being out of the way, there is A LOT of information already available on this forum. There are a lot of options for kayak fishing some are necessities, some are comforts and others are just really helpful modifications. Just to name a few: marine radio Rod Holders fish finder bait tank fish finder gear track (for mounting misc gear. cameras, electronics et's) Anchor Waders for the cold days fish grip game clip / gaff for landing big fish Check out the Share Your Innovations page for a lot of DIY projects you can do at home to save some money. As all things are available for purchase but quickly start to add up.

MOST IMPORTANT
Learn to enter and exit your yak in deep water, should you fall or be tossed out of your kayak you must be able to reenter. And while you are at it, NEVER go yaking without WEARING your life preserver. Unless of course you have a death wish. Tight Lines. YOUR PICTURE SHOWS YOU NOT WEARING YOUR LIFE JACKET. very bad habit.
