Something seems fishy.......

When a small hand full of guys are catching all the blue fin and the season is closed due to reached quotas and the rest of us go with out off la Jolla . Dose anybody no how this law works is there a report card to regulate so it's fare for everyone.

The BFT quota is Only for Commercial Fishing. Sport fishing doesn't close. They catch their quota and can't catch anymore because they can't sell at market.

Sport fishermen catch a very small fraction of BFT. But they have cut out limit down from 4 to 2 now.

Ya... That would really suck if there was a Season for us Sport Fishermen. Even worse for open party Sport Boats. But I got mine... And looking for more.

SAN DIEGO – Commercial fishing of Pacific bluefin tuna has ended for 2017, California Department of Fish and Wildlife announced Tuesday.

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife issued a notice to commercial fisheries:

“The Department has determined that the 2017 commercial fishery catch limit for Pacific Bluefin Tuna has been met. The Department requests that all commercial vessels immediately stop targeting and landing Bluefin Tuna. The National Marine Fisheries Service is in the process of publishing regulations to officially close the commercial Bluefin Tuna fishery.”

Commercial guys are literally the only ones that affect fish populations, but hey (money talks). States gotta get those tax dollars

I make the Spikes for my buddy who wraps plier/cutters. Other buddy stabbed it just for the picture. Totally missing the brain shot. I'm still looking for my Cow BFT. This one taped out at 150#. Your 50 is more than enough. But get a XH or XXH Rod. The end is the hardest and the XH or XXH will lift it better.
