Anyone have a lead on rectangular crates?
Does anyone have any leads on rectangular plastic crates? All of the ones now on ebay or amazon are around $40 or more. I'd really prefer to get a rectangular one but I'll downsize to square if its significantly cheaper. Either way it needs to be strong enough to have a three rod holder mounted to the side. Thanks! |

Thanks Bob, I just checked their site and it seems like only selected stores carry them, and no option to order it online. Bummer.
I did however find this place: https://www.milkcratesdirect.com/ Apparently you can buy them for $8 and pay $15 for shipping. Looks like the best deal so far..... |

I need a few more small things so I should be able to get free shipping out of the deal too. Thanks everyone! |

I've planning on picking up one of these rigid crates at Home Depot only $15 and they are pretty sturdy. If you search milk crate it want come up on the site as they call it a pro box.

I got mine at 7-11. Just ask the clerk and most of the time they don't care and will just give you one.

Or go to any market honestly. I'm sure they'll have some they don't want anymore.

If you catch the dairy products truck making deliveries to the local grocery store, ask the driver for an old crate. They get rid of them after using them for a period of time and will usually give you one or two.

Went by The Container Store this weekend and came across this gem. Looks like I've got a project on my hands!
https://www.containerstore.com/s/gre...004082&q=crate I got the large one and the lid. Plan is to make a "on the cheap" knockoff BlackPak so when I hit La Jolla for the first time I dont donate all my gear to mother earth. LOL Addition to the Innovations thread to come this weekend.... - KT |

Those look really good. The lid is nice. I'll have to check them out. The only problem I can see is if the latch contains metal. If it does, it's going to rust out quickly. |

I got mine from a family owned produce shop. I just went in and asked if they had any extra (which they always do) and got one for free.

That's always an idea, I just don't tend to like freebies. If I can afford it, I should pay for it. |
