looking for ocean fishing kayak recommendation/suggestions

Hi all, I am new into the world of kayaking and looking for a few suggestions on kayaks out there for Ocean Fishing.

I've been recommended the Jackson Kraken or a wilderness system kayak (maybe a used or demo version to save a bit!).

Do any of you have any other recommendations or know of an awesome deal out there?

Thanks Guys!

Contact Iceman (Andy at OEX-Sunset Beach) and ask him if he has any demo's that he's interested in selling once the demo days are over, I'm sure he'll make you a deal.

Prowler 13s are the best bang for your buck IMO. fast, stable, and really well priced. If you look on criaigs you'll see some for around 300 or less from time to time.

Not sure if this is out of your range. This one's a great deal.

Depends on how much you are willing to spend. Hobies....expensive. If you want to paddle, check out as many different kinds to see what fits your style and wallet. Check out used ones as you can save some bucks until you figure out what you want. I personally like the tridents as they are both stable and quick with lots of room for add ons.

Wow thank you for looking up and doing this research (King Saba) and the advice (tacmilk), in addition to the sport being awesome the community seems to be pretty awesome as well!

Definitely try to test some out if possible. Some that work well for some don't for others. I'm not from socal so I'm not sure what your options are, but if you can't find stores to demo kayaks, then at least do your research before buying a kayak and hitting the ocean. Good luck and be safe!

We are very lucky in socal as we have several awesome kayak shops (OEX) that service both the San Diego and Los Angeles area.
