There was a thread here some time back where someone found a huge cluster of something that looked like worms, but I think it turned out to be something different. You should search for it.
Freezing in your home freezer won't do it. You need to get down to like 14F for 48 hours or something. You'd probably need to get some dry ice to pull that off. |

There are parasites in most if not all fish, I always find them in halibut. Just pull them out and you'll be fine, no need to go all CSI on this. Every so often I miss one and end up vacuum sealing it with the fillet, I end up finding it when I get ready to cook the fish, I just pull it out and move on.

Google pyloric caecum. If that is what it looked like, then no they arent parasites. And no they arent worms. Ive had yellows with it before. Just part of their digestive system. Sashimi it up.

If it looked some thing like this it is pyloric caeca and normal. About all fish will have parasites, both internal n external. Mike |

Bring the fillet to me, I'll eat it and if nothing happens it should be fine. Then again, it could just be luck. Bring me another, and we will continue this process until you are absolutely confident it is safe for the family.
Could take 10-20 times before you can be sure nothing will happen. Better to be safe than sorry. I am willing to sacrifice for you. So that everyone can be safe.

A man is fishing at a resort lake when he sees a car pull up with just married on the back window, he watches while the groom carries the bride over the threshold but five minutes later the husband comes out and starts fishing.
A little later the husband runs back to the room but five minutes later he is back out fishing. This goes on quite a few times and curiosity gets the best of the first man so when the husband makes about the 6th trip he decides to talk to him. He says to the husband, you must be really in love with sex with your new bride. The husband says no sex, she has gonorrhea so no sex. The man asks, is the oral great? and the husband answers, no she has pyorrhea so no oral. So the man getting really curious asks, is it anal, is that what keeps drawing you back? The husband says no, she has diarrhea so we don't do that. Now the man is really curious and says if it's none of those things why do you keep running back to the room? The husband answers, well, she has worms, and I really love fishing.
