On both my Malibu's I use strips of the 2" velcro and also use 3M weather stripping glue to better secure the velcro to the inside of the kayak (flat on the bottom on either side of the center hatch bag) and some on the matching strips to the bottom of the battery pelican box. I always remove it during transport and storage at home.
