WSB Iron

Ok, boys. What iron is everyone using for wsb? Single hook(size) or treble? Tady 40/45,heavy,light,etc. Need to replace terminal tackle as my box did not get home from my last trip. Picked up a pack of 7/0 aki twist owner hooks and various weight torpedoes for dropper rig. Young lad at tackle shop told me I can use the aki twist for macs as well as squid by starting the hook inside the top of the mouth and exiting at clear spot on top of head. I have always hooked macs across the snout with a 4/0 circle but will try the new method and see how it works. Anyone fishing deep inside the kelp vs outside the kelp line? Heard a surface iron works well inside but need a long gaff since you pull up lots of kelp with the fish. Comments?

I no one thing....

I have lost many ya iron to bull kelp....by setting it in a rod holder with squid on it...bigger hook bigger fish I had a trouble hook pop...lose at gaff on an 80lb tuna but if I remember right it was snagged in the side hell..of a fight I consider that one catch and release
Watch your graph close for the kelp you can't see from the surface....
