Is Smuggler's Cove launchable?

Been trying to figure out of Smuggler's cove is kayak launchable without driving down there. I know theres a navy base there but as far as I can tell from google maps its open to the public. Anyone ever launch there or know what its curfew is? Can't find info online...

Everyone I know or spoke with on the water, launches at Kelloggs that would fish/dive the mouth of the Bay. Sure would save paddle time launching at Smugglers...

Kellogg PARK (specific park name) in La Jolla is usually referred to as La Jolla Shores (beach area and Avenida de la Playa launch zone)

Kellogg Street on Point Loma is a common launch point name, but it's actually not easy access now because of erosion. It's easier to go one more street to the north called Lawrence Street (one small set of steps), or one more street north of that called McCall Street with no steps.

Unless you have military ID or permission to enter the base as a civilian guest or DOD employee, I don't think you are going to get much further south on Rosecrans than Kellogg St. I took a class there once, but my name was on a list at the guard station.

Depending on your destination and if you don't care about the bait barge, then take a look at Sunset Park on Coronado for parking with access via Coronado Dog Beach. Check the surf height before you go there.

The Lawrence St beach and the small beach next to the Shelter Island boat ramp are both convenient parking and launch points for many good fishing areas around that part of the bay. Around the Lawrence St/Kellogg St neighborhood, be aware of which streets have 2 hour parking limitations.
