Malibu - Decker Canyon - Double

2 Big 23-27 LB yellows and off the water before noon.

Took a sick day this morning and boy was it worth it for once! Launched from Leo Carillo at 5:30AM. Made 3 Spanish macs and 6 greenbacks in about 20 minutes and headed out towards Decker. Saw a couple of boils, cast on them and got some small bonita on the way.

Trolled a Spanish out to the spot, unclipped and tossed in a green back on a fly line. 2 Minutes later at about 50 feet clicker goes off. Fish ON! 20 minutes later the first yellow ate the gaff. 27 lbs

Clipped on another greenback and send it down. Second Yellow hit within 15 minutes and on the gaff in about 25 minutes. Sank the gaff right as it shook the circle hook ...lucky break.

With 50 lbs of fish in the hull paddled back to shore and now headed home to process some sashimi and yellowtail poke! Tight Lines!

I don't call those sick days, I call them mental health days. It lets you get a whole new outlook on life and that can only make you a better worker.
