Carlsbad weekend of Supermoon

I fished Saturday & Sunday similar results for both days. Tuff making bait, more so Sunday and no fish to be caught.

Several Kayakers out there but didn't see any of my "crew". They must have known better than me. I did see another Red Malibu out there...I thought I was the only one in these parts with one.

Perfect conditions both days with water temps reaching 78.5 at some spots. I did manage a couple of green backs along with a couple of spanish but they couldn't influence anyone to bite. Combined 12 hours on the water, my back keeps reminding me, and never saw any fish.

So I keep hearing mixed reports about fishing during a full moon phase but my experiences have proven that fishing sucks during this period.

This now makes 4 trips in a row with the skunk. Can't wait for next week.

Curtis! I was gonna hit you up and ask if you were fishing, but all my friends wanted to fish too. We pulled my dad's boat out yesterday and today. Same results as you. Harbor was closed yesterday so we towed down to dana landing and headed offshore, didn't find anything so went to LJ and picked off a few rats on the surface iron. Today we headed up to the barn to look for YT and hooked one but pulled the hook. Absolutely dead looking so we headed to the pipe and it was pretty dead as well, called it a day around 12. Guess we should have spent that time trolling for wahoo. Oh well.

I will probably be out there next weekend with yuh on the yak.

I ended up fishing LJ on Sat AM. Launched in the dark, made bait, caught YT on first greenie, back on shore by 7:30 AM. I'd like to fish CBad on Sat morn, maybe launch from the lagoon jetties...will keep you posted if I can make it.

I knew I shouldn't have said anything about your hot streak the last time we fished together....my bad. I was out of town and gone again this upcoming weekend but going to try and get out either Thursday or Friday this week.

Best to blame it on the Blood Moon.....
