Refugio bass

Went out Saturday morning 6am with a squid and a box full of Big hammers. Drifted squid for nothing. Decided to stay inshore and pick away at calico bass. I was chucking 5.5 inch chovy pattern big hammers for some nice size bass. Weather was perfect and the water temp felt pretty good. There's tons of bait so making bait is not a problem out there. Was the only one out until about 11 then called it. There was various people out later in the day but I didn't see them hook up anything while I was out on the paddle board.

me and 2-stix went out of Gaviota that same morning, we made bait real quick at first light the greenies were all over and we filled up before 6:30.

Trolled around all morning even went offshore quite a ways, we both landed a few nice bonito and lost several. Also had quite the interesting encounter with a couple of hammerheads...lets just say they really like bait tubes and bumpin yaks.

my solution.......just hook the hammerhead on your greenie and let him tow you around for a few hundred yards, its a lot of fun!

no WSB, though we heard the school moved farther north.....
