Yes, the southern edge of the reserve is a straight East-West line starting at Diamond St just North of Crystal Pier. I suspect you guys are using some fancy FF maps or apps to navigate those boundaries ? Interesting to know...
I have a very basic GPS device with waypoints and tracks only. So I created this
San Diego Marine Protected Areas (MPA) page, with a Google Map and downloadable GPX files with the boundaries to upload on GPS devices. Would be glad if someone could use them besides me.
