I just leave it on the rod and wrap the lead around the handle once. If I ever take it off it's because it's time for a new one.

I don't use a sibiki stick either for the same reason as the other poster. But I almost always just keep the sibiki on the same rod. Lately bait has been tough so I always want a sibiki handy when bait shows. When I do need to or remove one I wrap it loosly and put in a section of a plaino but box. Also I tend to use the cheapest sibikis I can find so if they get tangled badly or lose a few hooks I just put on a new one. Mike
