Ive had the harbor freight for a few years as well. I added some advisory tape for early morning trips. Works fine for the kayak or lumber. Also look out for their coupons.

Will the hf allow me to transport a revo and outback? Thinking about attacking them on top of each other.

I'm constantly getting their 20% off coupons in the mail/online and sometimes they have 25% off as well (this Mother's Day for example)

You can print out the 25% Mother's Day coupon here: http://www.harborfreight.com/

Open this link and read the reviews from people that have used it..
Remember your only carrying a portion of the kayaks on the extender, not the entire weight

I have the hf bed extender. Pretty solid. Should do the job just fine with that pair of yaks you have. Put a pool noodle or some other type of protective material over the crossbar, duct tape that sucker up (or use some tuna cord if you're a perfectionist) and you'll be good to go.

I've been using one for about a year. Thin wall tube steel but plenty strong enough for two yaks. My only complaint is that I've scraped the back on pavement on big dips in the road, I think I'm going to cut the back off and weld it back together with an angle at the back corner.

Ended up picking this up instead. Don't know the brand but it is pretty sturdy and came with a light. Can't go wrong for $35!!

There you go!
I've add some safety reflective tape to mine for increased visibility. It's such a simple and easy way to transport the kayaks. Be sure to lock it up or use a locking pin in the Hitch as these can get stolen.
