Newb from Idyllwild

Just a hello. New to kayak fishing not much salt water experience, but I do alright on the trout. Learning a lot reading this great forum! I have an outback and my wife has a sport. We're both looking forward to gaining some salt water fishing experience in the bays!

If anyone is ever up in Idyllwild and/or Lake Hemet hit us up!

Jeremy

Welcome to the addiction. This site is a great place to learn what you need to know about kayak fishing. Use the search menu to look for more specific posts or the information menu to find articles about targeting specific species. Good Luck.

Thanks guys! Tried to fish lake Perris today because it's close to home. I got turned away at the gate for failed inspection due to some moisture inside my hull...my bad for not knowing the rules!

last time I was at Perris I think I was 8. Do you get out on the lakes out there much? I'd like to do Perris and Hemet when I get set up. Love Idyllwild too, beautiful place.

This woulda been my first time at Perris in a long while. Looked like there were several kayakers on the water. I like to hit Lake Hemet but they like to charge $25 to launch a kayak.

Be careful. Once you start saltwater fishing, you'll lose all interest in freshwater fishing. Saltwater is SOOO much more fun.

Good luck.
