San Diego out of Seaforth is a great boat, the plus is the fish hold where your fish are iced. I would reccommend going on a week day, the weekends will have a full load of 50 anglers, a lot of line in the water. Since your son is younger I would highly reccommend a am or pm boat to start. If he loses interest and your on a 3/4 day it's a long day for him.
Tip the crew $20.00 on boarding and ask if he can hang with skipper etc. that's a huge plus and nothing like seeing your son get to push a button, spin the wheel etc. Tuesday and Wednesday are your best bet |

I'm pretty partial to the Malihini out of H & M Landing.

Malihini is my favorite boat but not for a kid. There are not enough seats for kids who get tired. The San Diego is better choice if your taking a 10 yr old
