Actually way more relaxing and (sometimes) less of a crowd.

All I seem to catch after dark are sharks. I never pulled an all-nighter but if I did I don't think I'd go alone.

I live in the bay at night in the winter, been out to LJ a bunch at night too. 95% of my trips are solo. Calm, relaxing, and quite. It can be a little sketchy at times depending where you are for the simple fact that the lights from the shoreline black out the open ocean

Are you required to have some kind of light on the kayak?

I've been out all night in the bay before. Very nice, peaceful, and productive.
Yes on the lights, at the least the white one in the rear.

Damn, almost now feels like the good old days. Me, Danny and Neil put in some serious nights (through the mornings!!) and were well rewarded when the squish were around. Def miss those days backing each other up. I remember bitch Neil landing a barn door before it even got dark one day and left me by myself out there. It's all good if one is confident and prepared. Kinda think there'll be plenty of company if it ever goes off again...inner circle Josh-man. Jim

Given my hate for sabiki and early morning fishing that sounds like something more down my ally..
Been out at LJ as late as 10:00 during the winter and it seems like the water is generally calmer.. Is that always the case? |

Sometimes. I've seen it all out there at night. It's spooky but fun. The whales will scare the shit out of you. Lol
