If I was retired....
I would find a hot bite then tell my friends not to tell anyone because it would ruin my ability to harvest fish and sell them for additional income. or I would fish 6 days a week and tell people not to take picture or record this area because it would deplete the fishing population and my ability to harvest fish and sell them for additional income. Or I would fish 7 days a week and mind my own business, and only hang around people that follow my rules. But im not retired and i don't sell my fish, so i can only fish 2-4 times a month, fish wherever i like and post whatever i want without trying to make too many enemies.

If I were retired...
I would get a small camper and cross country fishing different parts of the ocean from Alaska down to Chile. Now that is a dream that WILL happen one day.. Plus I would post a report daily to mess with all the "local only" snobs 😉 |

If I was retired...
I'd travel the world, spending 1 month at each location fishing from streams, river, lakes, to ocean, and deep ocean. Then I worked the fishing vessel just to experience the harsh environment and have the opportunity to land some big fish. Also that mean I need to be single to travel the world... |

Well I am RETIRED, and it is AWESOME, and I hope you all survive to retirement age and get to ENJOY it. Baja is rewarding, just ask Rossman.
Share it with friends. Tight lines.

I wish I had it like that. I get to fish 1-2 days every other week. Depending on kids game schedule and the warden's chore list.

And chances are that you will not be fishing 5 times a week when you retire.

Retired?
I got my first pension check from the Motion Picture Industry last May....
And I'm as busy as ever...between the Hobie Fishing Team, Promar Hopnetting, and the Board of Directors of CCA- CAL...I'm as busy as a one legged man at a butt kicking contest! I'm able to get about 2 days of fishing in a week (weekdays of course...although once the fishing show season is over I'll probably get some more fishing days in. From the start of the Lobster season till January 1st I was on the water at least 4 times a week...most of that time was in the skiff, since I had it in a slip....best year in the last 10 for lobster in the Sant Monica Bay and Catalina. My one bit of "old guy" advice...do some finiancial retirement planning and have plenty of activities to do once your FREE!

Start with a weekend at a time now.
There's simply not enough time when you're retired.... If you can't find a weekend or two now, you won't be able to find the time when retired. Advice from a retired guy.

IF I WAS RETIRED I WOULN'T BE SITTING HERE AT F****N WORK, LOOKING AT THE LA JOLLA WEB CAM ON MY COMPUTER. I WOULD BE OUT THERE 2 1/2 MILES DUE WEST OF THE LAUNCH DRINKING SOME BEER WITH TWO LINES IN THE WATER AND HAVING A GOOD TIME, ENJOYING THE VIEW OF THE COAST FROM MY KAYAK!
