Yup, I power a Dragonfly 5.7" which has GPS as well. Max power at full brightness draws a max current of 0.83A, and the battery has a max output current of 2A at 12V.

One end connects to the DC output cable (I also added in a in-line fuse), and that connector part sticks out of the plano box. Other connector goes directly to the power cabling of the fishfinder.
