Jan 18th San O WCW Jackpot/Awards/Potluck

Slow fishing but fun day at San O. Thanks for everybody that showed up. Super easy swamped out high tide where you just had to hop in at the right time and paddle past the little shore pound. Some guys did the long haul to Box Canyon for YT, heard of one crushed bait for their effort. Couple BSB caught and sculpin and sandies. Only leagal halibut was a 28 incher and Greg opted to release it. A couple guys ate it on the landing, but nobody got hurt and it was smiles all around. Killer eats afterwards! 2014 trophies were handed out and we just hung out and headed for home one by one. I love hanging out at this beach and will gladly show up for the next one!

I had collected jackpot money in the morning and was left with the question of what to do about it since nobody weighed in a fish. I decided to raffle off a Stohlquist Fisherman PFD and used a random number generator to determine the winner............number 11 came up. Go back to the original post and see who #11 is..........seems fitting

The guy who scoffs at sub 30" halibut? The guy who passes on yesterday's great spread of food and paddles back out so he can play around in those waves? Figures. That pfd will get hung up in the garage to collect dust. Give him the pink one that just won't sell.

Glad it was as fun as it sounded! My old yota would have exploded before it made it that far.

They went on Sunday we were out there on sat, it also looks like they are a good 3 miles north of the 'fleet'. We should see reports once the fishing slows
