OTW Report from Gull Lake
I got a call last night from Jim and he was at Gull Lake in the June Lake Loop in the Eastern Sierras. I gave him a few pointers and advice on where to drop his Crawdad traps...and he scored Big Time...! He pulled them up first thing this morning and his Promar traps were FULL! He's back at camp now boiling some water and getting ready for a feast! The new Fall Issue of KayakFish has been too hard to find on the newsstand. They're trying to makeup for the shortcoming by giving away their latest edition for free for a limited time. They've set up a fangate on Facebook. People can't see the offer until they Like the page. At that point they'll get a link to download the iOS app, where they will find the Beyond Boundaries issue available for free. Please help spread the word by sharing this Bitly link: http://bit.ly/1tX6tg1

8am crawfish boil and beer! What a fun experience. Released most. Prob caught 300 in two traps, one overnight set. Promar's trap worked beautifully. Collapsible too so easy to store/travel with

LOVE Gull Lake. Friend of mine has access to a cabin there. Need to make another trip. Nothing like being out on the kayak and putting the first ripples on the lake on a chilly morning

Need to try
Never had crawdad before but they look delicious. Nice catch. Gull lake is an awesome lake for camping and fishing. The last time I was there I had a campsite on the water and was able to launch from my campsite.
Next time I'll have to try hoop netting for crawdads. Great job and thanks for the post, learned something new. PS. Don't leave any bait/worms out at night. Racoons got into mine an stole all my bait |

Just starting to get into kayak fishing and took my first trip up to Silver Lake right past Gull. Caught 11 hefty trout in my first 3 hours on the water. Released most of them but ended up catching 30+ in three days. Good fishing up there. Now to grow a pair and get out in the ocean!

Mmmmm.. Gull Lake... Good memories... A few years back, I went canoeing at Gull Lake with 2 of my buddies. We capsized in the middle of the lake: waterboarded a Canon T1i DSLR and lost a pair of rental car keys to the bottom of that lake... Well.. Glad to hear someone's enjoying the lake! Nice haul.
