I would go spectra strait to a short leader of floro. With this setup you can switch leaders depending upon the situation.
But if you have to fish mono....spectra to mono to floro. Use the john collins knot on the spectra to mono/floro, and a seguar knot or something similar/uni-uni/roy rose knot on the mono to floro side. And yes you need floro!
